While you can access Assemble from a phone or tablet using a web browser, we have a dedicated app for use on mobile devices. Supporting all the features available to volunteers, it allows easier access while on the move to messaging, rotas, news and more.
As with the web version of Assemble, access to features within the app depends on your role and permissions.
If you're a supervisor, manager or admins, you can use the app to access features from a personal perspective, such as messaging, viewing a rota or event, etc.
However, you can only use management-specific features and actions such as My team within the web version of Assemble.
Log in and out
The mobile app uses the same username and password as the web, and supports two-factor authentication.
The Assemble app won't log you out automatically, you have to log out manually if you don't want to stay logged in. This means you can quickly access the app without the need to provide login credentials each time. The security on your device controls your access to the app.
To log out of the app completely, click Other then select Logout.
Use the app
The app replicates the features of the web version of Assemble.
All pages on the Assemble app follow a similar design and layout, however, your options vary depending on your feature and access permissions.
Home
The home view varies depending on your permissions and features. Typical tiles include unread news, messages, events and tasks.
You can manage on or off call availability from the home page, swipe right to select the period, or left to mark it as unavailable.
Activities
The Activities option gives you access to Events, Tasks, Rota and Activities.
The top menu is split into three areas, which change contextually depending on the feature you select.
Top right: Supports actions such as adding a new item, context search, deleting or printing depending on context.
Middle navigation: Covers sub-features and you can drag it left or right on smaller displays to show all options.
Lower navigation: Contains filters and a pop out additional filter icon as shown in the example below.
News
Read organisation news.
Messaging
Messaging mirrors the web version of the platform. You can perform bulk actions, such as deletion of multiple messages, by clicking the envelope icon on left of the required messages in the list. This then switches to a selection box so you can select multiple messages.
When multiple messages are selected, additional actions appear on the right of the screen for label, delete and print. If you clear the selection, all the messages return the display to normal.
To compose a new message, click the New Item
icon from the message screen.
Click CC/BCC to add related recipients. The To, CC, and BCC fields support full search of name, team and role, depending on permissions, for group messaging. Entries in the field automatically search and display results below the field. When you select the required, the result enters the field.
More
User details: Access personal details, skills and interests and contacts.
Calendar: View personal calendar.
Directory: View the directory of users.

Talk to organisation: Report issues or ask questions to the organisation.
Logout: Fully log out of the app, this is not required in normal use as access is typically left to the device being secured.
